We had Emerson and Nigel’s birthday party this weekend. We invited some of her friends from daycare and had a huge amount of fun. She wanted to have a space theme, so I made a rocket ship cake, and my sister decorated the cupcakes with little stars. She really is a genius when it comes to that stuff.
The weather was beautiful! All the children had a fun time.
For the party favor, all the children (and a few adults) left with these shooting stars. In the craziness of the party, I didn’t get any pictures of these…but they were a big hit!
We put a request on the invitation asking for no gifts…we feel it is important for Emerson and Nigel to appreciate these types of occasions without the accompaning materialism. However, close family got them gifts which are appreciated. I created a rocket ship based on this pattern, but I didn’t have the actual patter, so I sort of did it from memory. Mine is a lot FATTER and not as tall…but still cute. Instead of the hole, I put a small felt pocket on the back for the astronauts (peg people). My husband made her walking blocks from tree limbs.
It was a lovely day!
I can’t believe Emerson turned 4 and Nigel turned 1.
