babymoon

July 21st, 2010

I haven’t posted in a while.  Things have been terribly busy with the new baby, hanging with Emerson, working full time, and taking two classes.  I hope things will settle down soon, so that I can get back to posting.

Nigel

June 2nd, 2010

Nigel is doing wonderfully.  What a different experience with a “term” baby as compared to a preemie (32 weeker).

Here are some recent photos – I can’t believe how fast he is changing.

Emerson turns 3

June 1st, 2010

We had an exciting and fun birthday for Emerson on Sunday.  I can’t believe she has turned three.  I can’t believe this little wonderful person has been in my life for 3 years.  I can’t remember my life without her!

Here is my sweet little love with her new birthday crown from Orange Iron Fabrications

three years old!

Since she is turning three, she can have all types of new “allergy” food.  We tried a clamboil, since I love them.  Shellfish is a no no before 3.  Here she is helping to wash the clams

She didn’t care for them, however.  But we’ll try again!

It was my intention, in keeping with Waldorf principles, to have a nice family birthday with a nursery rhyme theme.  But when we got to the balloon store, she saw the fire truck balloon, and that was that.  She wanted a fire truck birthday.

Here is my feeble attempt at a Firetruck cake.  When she saw it she said “oh mama, that’s nice.  It’s a little messy, though” LOL

It was a lovely day.  We had excellent weather, and Emerson was surrounded by people who love her deeply.  And that was the most important thing.

Waldorf Connection Expo

May 18th, 2010

These are excellent for anyone who needs a little direction or inspiration with parenting or homeschooling.

Donna has put together another great bunch of FREE teleseminars!  And they are well worth the hour or so.

All the seminars are free live (with q & a), and then they are available for 24 hours for replay.

I highly recommend them.

life with baby (babies)

May 17th, 2010

Circumstances required that I return to work only 10 days after having Nigel.  This is a horrible experience.  I have a great deal of anxiety being separated from the baby.  Both babies really.  While I didn’t like being on bedrest, I did enjoy spending so much time with Emerson.  And I miss her too.

Baby is well.  Nanny is fantastic…but I miss him, and wish I would have been able to spend these early days  snuggled up with him and Emerson.

If we ever decide to have another baby (doubtful LOL), I will NOT, under any circumstances, do this again.  It was a bad mistake.

He is doing wonderfully.  He is nursing extremely well, sleeping well (and I don’t mind the nightly feedings — it’s part of the job).  He is a sweet little thing.  He is getting so big.

My husband and I decided to do the Dr. Sears alternate vaccine schedule for Nigel.   We esentially delayed many of Emerson’s too, but this was becuase she was so sick so often in her first year.  While we do not think there is a real link between Autism and Vaccines, having a lighter schedule somehow seems more gentle, especially since he will not be attending a daycare center or be around a lot of other children.
